Dear Expectant Mother,
Hello, we are Elliotte and Glenn.

We respect your immense strength in exploring adoption. We are very excited to begin this process and want to let you know a little bit about us and look forward to the opportunity to get to know you as well.
Elliotte was adopted so she appreciates firsthand what a generous act you are considering. Both she and her older brother were adopted at birth and even though they were closed adoptions, her parents were always very open and honest about how grateful they were in the special creation of their own family.
We live in California, about 45 minutes north of San Francisco. We met at work and knew each other casually for over ten years. Fate sat us next to each other during a long dinner with co-workers in Barcelona, Spain and soon after we started dating. One year later we walked down the aisle and have been married for almost 9 years now. We love to travel the world together but still have just as much fun over a game of scrabble and making each other laugh! Glenn is an Engineering Manager and Elliotte was a Project Manager for a large company. Elliotte’s work kept her traveling internationally, so shortly after we married she quit her job so we could start a family. We are very fortunate to be financially stable so she can be a stay-at-home mom.
ABOUT ELLIOTTE

Elliotte grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago. She has one brother who is a documentary film director. He and his wife, an actress from Russia, have 3 sons. Elliotte was able to take a long vacation through Russia with her brother and sister-in-law. Her childhood summers were always in Wisconsin at their family cottage on a lake. She spent them boating, swimming and waterskiing. She came to California for college and the beautiful weather was more fun than Chicago winters so she decided to stay.
GLENN ON ELLIOTTE
Elliotte is incredibly fun and social. I adore her big heart and honest concern for those she knows and loves. Her large group of friends are so excited for us in our adoption journey. She is smart and can speak in German and Russian and has travelled everywhere from Morocco to Thailand. Tennis is a passion of hers. Also a love of gardening along with her incredible design sense drew her to succulents and now she has a large collection she tends to with great care. Her favorite holiday is Halloween and each year we have a pumpkin carving party and decorate the entire house. Elliotte is also artistic, loves photography and painting. A background in art history means she loves to explore museums and would love to pass this knowledge along to a son or daughter. She is a great cook and a wonderful baker - all of our friends always ask her to bring dessert when we get together!
ABOUT GLENN

Glenn grew up in the suburbs outside of Montreal, Canada and has two sisters. They are very close and one is a nurse and the other is a teacher. He has six beautiful nieces and nephews. Both of his brother-in-laws are very musical and play guitar and piano and his Dad plays the piano as well. Growing up he lived next door to his cousins and has great memories of playing with them. His parents still live in the house he grew up in and even though they live far away we visit often. Glenn went to the University of Waterloo in Toronto, Canada and earned a degree in Computer Science. He has lived in California for over 20 years.
ELLIOTTE ON GLENN
Glenn is into cycling, loves going to the movies and is always current on the latest and greatest in tech. There is nothing he can't figure out and he is highly regarded in his field. There is never a need to worry if anything isn’t working in the house because he will always figure out how to fix it! I love how he is always up for adventure and was certified for scuba diving this year during our trip to St. Lucia. On our trip to Hawaii he learned to surf too! Glenn speaks French he learned in his youth in Canada and helps translate for me when we travel. His family is very fun and we have spent many memorable Christmases together. They love to break out the instruments and sing songs after a big dinner. I know he gets his big heart and love for life from a wonderful upbringing.
OUR JOURNEY
Our path to being parents has been a very hard one. We were blessed with twin boys but Elliotte had terrible difficulties during the pregnancy and they were born extremely premature with many health issues. One beautiful son was with us for five and a half months. Our second son passed away at 18 months. We never gave up on our boys, and were grateful for every second of the time we had with them. The one thing that we learned from this painful time in our life was that even though our boys were very sick, they were also our greatest joy!
We were filled with so much love and happiness and know we don’t want to go through life without children. We have grown closer through our parenting experience and are more committed to each other than ever and to creating a family again. We also feel confident we can face any challenge that will come our way.
OUR HOME

We live in a large new 5 bedroom home with big porches in Sonoma County on half an acre. The house backs up against two small farms. We often see deer and rabbits in the fields out back and have beautiful views of the surrounding hills. We added a fenced pool and there is plenty of grass to play on.
We have the funniest little Boston Terrier named Truman who is loving and good with children. Elliotte takes him on walks every morning with neighbors. There are many parks and farms nearby and the hillsides in the area are dotted with goats and sheep and even a miniature horse farm! We are close to the coast and like to take Truman to play on the beach. We cannot wait for the day we take our children on one of these outings and to show them the animals.
There is a big park down the street filled with colorful climbing structures and swings. Elliotte is the head of the neighborhood social committee. One of the events she organizes is an annual BBQ at the park for all the neighbors, kids and relatives. There is face painting, a bouncy castle and ring toss. Another fun event she coordinates is the annual Easter Egg Hunt and we always have a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny!
OUR VALUES
We will be devoted parents and feel we know the value of the gift of life. It is not something we will ever take lightly. Our future children will be loved, nurtured, encouraged and supported in every way possible.
We will do our best to raise our children to be confident, caring and to have a house filled with laughter. We believe the single most important thing for children to have is unconditional love. It gives a child strong roots to take on the many opportunities in life. Education is very important to us and we will make sure a child has all the best options. That means not only good schools but also learning from all that day-to-day life has to offer. The San Francisco Bay Area has tons of fun kid’s museums, art and cultural activities as well as many natural wonders to explore.
We both grew up with family traditions and believe that these are important for children. That can mean annual traditions like opening stockings and eating Tourtiere (a Canadian meat pie) on Christmas Eve, our yearly pumpkin carving party or everyday traditions like saying goodnight to all the photos of our friends and family, bedtime stories and many kisses good-night. We believe that family traditions can make a child feel safe and secure and give them a lifetime of memories.
