You decide whether you would like to let them adopt your baby.

We are here for you to help make the decision that best suits your needs.

Angelina and Romy

We are Angelina and Romy. Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents. Our hearts are with you during this difficult time. Though we were both raised in traditional Indian households, we followed non-traditional paths. We are very open-minded, accepting people. We hope this letter gives you a snapshot of our life and the type of loving, engaging and active home we can provide for a child.

We are a young, financially secure couple who have been happily married for 11 years. We have actually known each other for 22 years--we met in college. Our marriage has worked out well, because we started with a great friendship as a foundation. One of the strengths in our relationship is our ability to compromise, discuss and respect each other’s thoughts and feelings. Although often our interests appear opposite--Romy is an omnivore, Angelina a vegetarian; Romy picks movies where guys blow things up and Angelina prefers quiet foreign films; Romy chooses alternative rock while Angelina seeks out rap music — we seem to always find a middle ground (even on the thermostat). We both enjoy the outdoors and share a lot of interests: snowboarding, running, hiking, golf. We love to travel (mostly to warm places). Our travels have taken us to China, India, Belize and Tahiti. We plan to continue to travel and feel that it is important for a child to be exposed to the world and its various cultures and beauty. It will also be a lot of fun to experience these places through the eyes of a child.

He Says...
Angelina was born in Canada, and due to her father’s job, moved to Washington DC, Mexico, and Egypt, where she finished high school. She earned her Masters degree in Journalism in New York and then worked mainly in Asia investigating and writing about crime and corruption. She chose a career that fits her personality well: she is strong, inquisitive and passionately dedicated to social and political issues. She now does a lot of writing about women’s issues, speaks on panels, and hosts radio shows on immigrant’s rights. Angelina can speak French, Spanish, and two Indian languages. She’s endlessly energetic and very bright. She’s a photographer who has had exhibitions in San Francisco. She is funny, sarcastic, affectionate and loyal. Angelina is looking forward to being a stay-at-home mom. She’s excited about for the opportunity to care for and nurture a baby, as well as experiencing all the changes, challenges and richness that parenting can bring.

She Says...
Romy was born in Canada and grew up in California, doing all the things west coast boys do (surfing, skateboarding, listening to bad ‘80s bands). He got his first degree from Berkeley, and went on to work with his father patenting a medical device. He then attended dental school, where he got his DDS and opened up his own dental/ orthodontic clinic. He has very gentle hands and has a lot of young patients, most of them in braces that he has put on. After having her teeth cleaned for the first time, my five-year-old niece told me he “rocks.” Of course, he let her take lots of toys from the treasure chest, so she might be biased. Romy lights up a room just by walking in, and I have never met a person who didn’t like him. He’s charming, intelligent, and always knows how to break the ice. He’s also very affectionate and always ready to compromise. Romy has wanted to be a dad for as long as I’ve known him. He wants to coach the soccer team, he wants to help with math homework (and I think he wants an excuse to go to McDonalds and Pixar movies). But at the heart of it, he wants to help mold and encourage a child to grow his or her wings and soar. Romy has so much love, energy, and compassion, that I am confident that he will be an excellent father.

Our Families
Romy’s parents are both retired, though his Dad continues to serve on several corporate boards. Now they play golf, travel non-stop, and spoil us all rotten. His brother Bobby is our go-to guy when anything (from a car to a bar-b-que) needs fixing. Angelina’s parents are also retired. Her mother was a Montessori teacher and her father an engineer. Her older brother works in finance, and has a five-year old daughter with his amazing wife, who works as a domestic violence counselor. Her younger brother is a urologist and recently married a surgical dermatologist. Medically, we are well covered!

Where We Live
We own a four-bedroom house in Los Gatos, California, which is a small town about an hour south of San Francisco. Our home has a sloping yard equipped with a large children’s play structure, including a slide with an attached telescope (for spotting pirates?). Our neighborhood is beautiful, with lots of jogging trails, parks, and awardwinning schools. It’s a very child- and dog-friendly area. The local banks stock both lollipops and dog biscuits. We are close to the beach and just a few hours from the mountains, and both sets of soon-to-be grandparents are nearby.

Finally
There is so much more that we look forward to talking with you about. But finally, we would like to promise that above all else, your child will be adored, and that he or she will always know that you made this brave decision out of unconditional love and hope for the future. We would be thrilled to hear from you and learn more about you and your vision for your child. We would also be happy to fill in the blanks about us. We can be reached at 1-866-674-0245. You may also email us at romyandangelina@yahoo.com. Our friendly adoption attorney, Susan Romer, is available to speak with you 1-800-U-Adopt-Us (1-800-823-6788) or feel free to email them at at: adamsromer@aol.com.

Best wishes to you,
