We are Lisa and Bill from Northern Virginia, outside of Washington, D.C. Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your baby.  We are so excited about the prospect of becoming parents.  After years of infertility, we are turning to adoption to help make our dreams come true. We can't wait to share our lives and give lots of love to a new baby.  We know that this is a difficult decision for you and we want you to feel as comfortable with us as possible.

About Us

                  We met when Bill was traveling back from New York to Washington D.C. on the Delta Shuttle when Lisa came on board and sat next to him.  An hour later Bill and Lisa had exchanged numbers and Bill called her the next day.  Needless to say, nine months later, we were engaged and married ten months later. We were married 4 years ago at Windows on the World in the World Trade Center in New York, 16 months prior to September 11^th. Our families and friends have great memories of our wedding at that special place now that it's gone. 

                   We are best friends and love spending time together.  We love to travel and enjoy the outdoors and would love to share our experiences with our child. We have always dreamed of building a family together.

Although we have lots of interests, one of our favorite things to do is to camp out at home, whether it's just renting a movie or reading a book.  We consider Sunday to be family night. We go to the Farmers Market and pick out fresh food, cook out on the grill and play with our two dogs. Sunday night is like open house at our home and everyone loves coming over with their families for a big cookout.

About Lisa (by Bill)

I am  always told by others that Lisa is one of, if not the most happy and fun person to be around. What is remarkable about Lisa is that she has a personality that makes others feel better because they have been around her.

Lisa works for a large magazine publisher in advertising. Her job entitles her to great flexibility to work from home ½ the week and the office the other half.  Lisa has tons of energy and meets people wherever she goes.  She loves to do aerobics, exercise, play tennis and gardening in the spring. She has one brother and he recently got married but doesn't have children yet. Her parents are so excited to become Grandparents, as this will be the first grandchild in the family. 

About Bill (by Lisa)

Bill works for a financial company that helps with the growth and development of small companies. Bill also has job flexibility because he is his own boss.  Bill grew up in Chicago and is one of 5 children; his family still resides there. He has 3 brothers and one sister. His teenage nieces can't wait to come and baby-sit.  Bill is an avid reader, loves to play golf, tennis and exercises regularly on the treadmill. The information that Bill knows sometimes amazes me. He knows so much about history and current events and probably is one of the smartest people I know.  He also can tell you every player on just about every sports team. I call him a 'walking encyclopedia of useless sports trivia'.

Our Family & Friends

Both of our families are so excited for us to adopt a baby. You'd think the baby was here already with all the plans and baby things Lisa's parents have planned. We love getting together for holidays, it's great family time and everyone comes. We both have very close relationships with our families including many cousins.

Bill's sister is a teacher and can't wait to give us her huge collection of children's books when she comes for the summer.

Lisa is still very close to the friends she's known since childhood, they have been friends since they're 5 years old. They get together all the time. This friendship is a tradition we hope to pass on, as all of their children are friends. We get together regularly with them and their families.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a beautiful neighborhood in a 4 bedroom home, with a big backyard and lots of Cherry blossom trees.  What we love about our town is that it has a real sense of community. There is a great park a few blocks away that we can walk to and a pool that's only a mile from our house. There is a big sunny bedroom that we can't wait to make into a nursery.

 We have 2 dogs, a Labrador retriever named Jefferson (Jeff), and his sister Jenny (lab mix).  They are so much fun and the most loveable dogs you can imagine. Every night when we take them out for walks in the neighborhood, the kids see them and come running up to pet them.

Every summer we spend time at the beach in South Carolina.  We ride our bikes, take long walks on the beach and build sand castles with the kids. Traveling is a passion for us and we love to explore new places and cultures.  Whenever we travel we imagine what it would be like as a family.  We look forward to sharing these experiences with our children.
