You decide whether you would like to let them adopt your baby.

We are here for you to help make the decision that best suits your needs.

Debbie and Jim

To A Special Woman,

We are Debbie and Jim from San Jose, CA. We are grateful for the opportunity to introduce ourselves to you. Finding a loving family for your baby through open adoption is a courageous decision for you to make. We are very excited about expanding our family to include a baby — a child we can love and cherish.

We met at a work event in Florida. At the time, Debbie was living in New Jersey and Jim was living in California. We have been together for seven years and have been married for over two years. Ours is a fun-loving and dedicated relationship. We are best buddies who do almost everything together. Both of us are ready and eager to become parents! We would love to enrich and share our lives with a child. Many of our close friends have children of all ages, with whom we enjoy many good times.

Debbie talks about Jim:
I like to say that Jim always has a twinkle in his eye!  Jim is a fun-loving, generous and caring person. He is my best friend and the love of my life. His special interests are aviation, cars, sailing, and tinkering with almost anything electronic. Jim is also a very good cook, a skill he learned from his Italian family. Growing up, he played the saxophone and trumpet and continues to enjoy jazz. With his background in electrical engineering and computer science, Jim is very handy around the house and can fix almost anything. Jim always has a smile and loves to be around children, who think of him as a great big teddy bear. I know he will be a wonderful father for our child.

Jim talks about Debbie:
Debbie is gentle and compassionate, focused and dedicated. She is a wonderful wife and my best friend. To me, Debbie has the spirit of a little girl. This really comes across when she’s working in the garden or watching the animals in the zoo. We have dozens of plants and flowers in our back yard that look amazing thanks to the green thumb Debbie inherited from her grandmother. Growing up, Debbie played the flute, loved gymnastics, and spent time in the water as a lifeguard and a synchronized swimmer. Debbie loves to travel and has visited many countries all over the world where she learned foreign languages and cultures. She looks forward to sharing those experiences with our child.

Our Home and Neighborhood
Our home is casual, relaxed, and has a gorgeous view of the California hills. There is a great back yard that is a perfect place for our child to play. We are planning for the changes our baby will bring in our lives. The nursery is upstairs just next to our room. We are filling it with a collection of teddy bears, children’s books, and an heirloom rocking chair for soothing and comforting our baby. Debbie works from home and will be able to stay at home with our baby. We live in a safe, close-knit neighborhood. There are lots of young children and are sure to be plenty of playmates! A playground, full of slides, a jungle gym and swings, is within a few steps of our home. Our neighborhood also has a community pool perfect for swimming lessons or to just enjoy an afternoon of fun in the sun. One of the most important reasons we chose our community is that our child will attend the award winning Blue Ribbon elementary school located just down the street.

Our Families
Both of our families are on the East coast — Debbie’s is in Pennsylvania and Jim’s is in New York. We remain close even though we are on opposite sides of the country. We visit for holidays and special events, such as birthdays and anniversaries, and our parents also come to visit us. There is much family support and excitement for our adoption plans. Debbie’s Mom is eager to start knitting baby clothes and blankets, and Jim’s parents look forward to cherishing another grandchild.

Good Parenting
As parents, we both feel strongly that providing a safe, supportive home is very important to raising healthy children. A child should feel loved and secure while having loads of fun and enjoying life! We will stay involved and provide opportunities for our child to have many experiences. These will include church, travel, sports, hobbies, recreation, and friends in the community. We also believe that a fun-filled learning environment at home is essential. This will mean helping with homework and encouraging activities such as reading, art, and music.

If you decide that we are the parents to whom you want to entrust your child, you will become a special person in our lives. We look forward to creating a relationship that is warm, open, and respectful.
