About us
We both grew up in Northern California, where we still live, close to family and lifelong friends. We have dreamed of being blessed with children in our home. We have been together for 12 years and enjoy sharing many similar interests, goals and dreams. Our first experience with adoption was very positive and we feel fortunate to have Alex's birth mom in our lives. We realize that every story is unique—we hope that this letter shares with you a glimpse into our lives as we look forward to learning about you and your hopes for the future.

Mark talks about Donna
Donna is a caring and passionate person. She is always available to help others and has a very strong network of friends who care about her. She is out-going, adventurous and creative. Donna is great with children and is a wonderful mom and a favorite auntie. She loves spending time with Alex. Together they share fun activities like singing, dancing and going to toddler gym classes. Donna graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Recreation Administration and Marketing. She has enjoyed her career working in Parks and Recreation. Donna is active in sports and in the past, has competed in team events such as swimming, soccer and gymnastics. She likes photography, gardening, planning parties and time with family and friends. Donna has many wonderful memories of family camp trips, beach picnics and neighborhood softball games with her 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Her parents still live in Santa Rosa where the family gathers for holidays and weekend events.

Donna talks about Mark...
Mark has a great sense of humor and playful spirit. He loves problem solving and building things. Mark enjoys his work as a satellite engineer, where he is able to use his technological expertise, problem solving skills and creativity. Mark is a loving husband and father who spends many hours playing, teaching and caring for his son. He enjoys playing golf, skiing, cycling and wood working (his recent project was a beautiful birdhouse with 400 individually hand-crafted shingles). Mark and Alex work on projects together and the two of them look forward to sharing their projects with a new little addition to our family. Mark grew up in Burlingame, California with his parents and 3 brothers.

Mark and Donna talk about Alex...
Alex is a joyful boy, who loves music, stories, playing ball, and being outdoors. His favorite books now include "Go Dog Go", dinosaur stories and "That's Funny" pop up book about a grumpy ant and how his friends try to cheer him up. Alex is very social and loving and enjoys time with his friends and cousins. He loves animals and enjoys trips to the zoo or aquarium. He also has fun swinging, climbing the play structure and going down the slides at the park. He can't wait to have a sister or brother to share his life with.

Interests and Hobbies
We love the outdoors and like to spend our weekends hiking, bicycling, skiing, entertaining family and friends or working on home projects. We also enjoy traveling and exploring new areas and new activities. We recently traveled to Italy where we met Donna's cousins in Tuscany. We are excited to share these activities and more with our children! We look forward to taking our children on camping trips in the mountains and exploring the beaches of California, Mexico and Hawaii. Family is important to us and we feel fortunate our brothers and sisters live close by and are friends as well as family. Together we have 11 nieces and nephews (ages 3-12 years old) and we have a lot of fun when we get together for holidays, vacations and weekend barbecues.

We are excited to share these activities and more with our children.
Our families support us in our desire to adopt another child and look forward to embracing their newest family member.
