We are here for you to help make the decision
that best suits your needs.

Emma and Chris
Dear Expectant Mother,
We are Emmanuelle (Emma) and Chris. We thank you for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves and for considering us as adoptive parents.
We have always known that we wanted to build a family together and feel that we have so much love and happiness to share with a child. Although we have been unsuccessful in having a biological child, we are so happy that we can fulfill our dreams of starting a family through open adoption.
We met six years ago in New York City at a wedding of a mutual friend. Emma had come all the way from Paris, France to attend, while Chris flew in from San Francisco. After many long trips between Paris and San Francisco we decided to be together and Emma moved to California. We were married two years later in San Francisco, the city we now call home. We are an active couple, and enjoy skiing, jogging and swimming. We also appreciate spending our time together going to local flea markets to find a little treasure, reading books on our couch, and listening to all sorts of music. We enjoy traveling, and try to do so whenever we have vacation time.
About Chris
Chris grew up in San Francisco. Chris’ mom and sister both live nearby, and sadly, his father passed away just a few years ago. Chris and his sister are very close and she can’t wait to be a doting aunt. Chris went to college in the Bay Area where he studied music. After college he spent the next ten years touring Europe with a small music group. He is still a professional musician and continues to play the trumpet. Chris loves classical music and jazz, in fact, he loves all music.
Chris has owned and managed a local music store for the past fifteen years where he sells musical instruments to people from around the world. He rents instruments to children just starting out, and loves working with families to find the right instruments for their children. He often teaches trumpet to the younger students. In the evenings Chris plays for a famous show called Beach Blanket Babylon.
In his spare time Chris studies French so that he can communicate with Emma’s relatives in France. He also loves sailing on the San Francisco bay.
About Chris by Emma
Chris is a happy and optimistic man. He has a very open mind and a strong will. He makes me laugh and I know he will be always here for me. I know that he is very excited to become a father.
About Emma
Emma grew up in Grenoble, France, which is close to the Alps Mountains and started skiing and ice skating when she was five years old. She has one young sister and was very close to her many cousins while growing up. Emma enjoys her life in California, especially living in San Francisco. Professionally, she specializes in children’s books and has her own agency representing French illustrators in the American publishing market. She has flexible business hours and is able to work from home. She also teaches French language classes for children between 3 and 5 years old. She likes to teach and play with children, giving them a chance to explore and discover their world. A musician as well, Emma has played the piano for many years. We recently bought a piano and after work she enjoys playing some of her favorite pieces of music (Chopin and movie music) in our living room.
Emma by Chris
Emma is a very caring person, especially when it comes to family and friends. She is happiest when she has the house full. She has a big heart just waiting to be filled by a child
Our Home
We live in San Francisco in a beautiful, comfortable home. We love the outdoors and caring for our garden. Our house is two blocks away from Golden Gate Park where there are many playgrounds, gardens and lakes. Our neighborhood is very ethnically diverse and has many different types of food markets and stores. There are many schools in the area, including a French School. We love having birthday parties and entertaining friends for dinner. Emma is a very good cook and loves to prepare French dishes. Chris prepares the best tacos in the west.
Family and Friends
During the year, friends and family visit us from France. We always have fun showing them the city and the coast. Emma has a nephew and a niece, cousins, one godson and many goddaughters in Europe. We vacation with them and enjoy playing games, singing, cooking, and reading books together. There will certainly be many trips to Europe to visit our family and friends who are excited and supportive of our plans to adopt. We want to share our love of two different countries and their cultures with a child and say, "I love you" in two languages.
Once we become parents, a child will be our priority. We will strive to raise a child to develop strong moral values and promote an open mind. Kindness, respect for people and the environment, all with a sense of humor, will be our goal.
We feel fortunate that our family speaks two languages, and we plan to give our child a bilingual education. We were raised Catholic but we are not practicing. We want to encourage a child to learn about different religions so that he or she could choose what religion that they would like to practice.
We want a child to have the opportunity to fulfill all of his or her dreams and become a happy and stable adult. And finally, we would like to promise that above all else your child will be adored.
We are looking forward to learning more about you and meeting you. Please feel free to contact us at 1.888.753.2774 or email us at chrisemma.family@gmail.com or you can call our friendly adoption attorney, Susan at 1.800.U.ADOPTUS‘ (1.800.823.6788) or adamsromer@aol.com.
