You decide whether you would like to let them adopt your baby.We are here for you to help make the decision that best suits your needs.
Erica and Michael
We are Michael and Erica from West Hartford, Connecticut. We’ve been married for nearly six years, but we’ve been together for 20 years! We met each other when we were in 9th grade and were high school sweethearts. Our relationship is grounded by the love, respect and admiration that we hold for each other. We have an abundance of love to give and we’re ready to share our lives with a child and raise a family. We are very excited about this opportunity to become first-time parents, so we respect and support your decision to find a good home for your baby About Us We are both fortunate to come from very loving and supportive families. Our strong family ties are very important to us and will be a core value that we share with our children. Erica has an older brother and sister, and Michael is a middle child with an older sister and a younger one. Between all of our siblings, we are aunt and uncle to three nieces and two nephews, whom we adore. We spend as much time as we can with our all of our family. There are always big holiday dinners and birthday celebrations that help to bring us together—and once a year we have a huge gathering at our family’s summer retreat. Our families support our decision to adopt and are excited to share in the experience.
Another place we love is Denmark, where Michael’s mom grew up. Whenever we go, we have such a fun time building sand creatures on the beach with Michael’s little cousins, eating lots of ice cream, and of course visiting with family. About Michael (by Erica) Michael has been a kid at heart ever since high school. He is very funny, loving, and compassionate. He is also very bright and creative. He also enjoys spending time with his sisters in the Berkshires where they have vacationed as a family since they were little kids. Not only can Michael build the most impressive sand creatures on the beach, but he also enjoys fixing and building things around our own house and working in the garden. Michael owns his own business and works out of our house so he gets to spend lots of quality time with Barney and is able to take time off to enjoy a two of his favorite pastimes: biking and skiing. Michael loves the outdoors and has a great interest in the environment. After college, Michael worked at the Environmental Protection Agency for five years, then returned to school for a MBA at the University of Virginia. Michael is very close to his family, particularly with his two sisters. I admire the relationship that Michael has with his family; he is always available to them and he is very supportive. About Erica (by Michael) Erica is a very kind, considerate, and family-oriented person. She is full of compassion for others and she is frequently described as a “good friend.” I describe her as fun-loving and full of energy. She loves to travel and explore new places. Since high school we have traveled together to Europe, Costa Rica, and Brazil. Erica is always up for adventure! We hiked the “Long Trail” in Vermont and a couple of years ago we rafted the Grand Canyon with our families. Eric is, in fact, happiest around her family. She is a wonderful daughter, sister, and aunt. Erica went to college in Wisconsin and graduate school at the University of Michigan with a master’s degree in public health. She has always worked with the field of social services where she can best help and advocate for others. She worked at the United Way for a while, developing maternal and child health programs. Now she works for a small non-profit that supports minority and underrepresented youth interested in health careers. Erica’s job is very flexible, so she plans to work part-time or not at all while we raise our family. Some of Erica’s hobbies include photography, swimming, being outdoors, and reading.
Our Dog Barney We rescued Barney 3 years ago. He is a very sweet and friendly dog who loves to play with other dogs and with people. He is a super friendly pooch and he is wonderful around children. In fact, he has a little “fan club” of kids on our street and loves showing off his tricks to them.
Our House and Neighborhood Our house has 3 bedrooms, 2 ½ bathrooms, and a lot of character! We have a fenced backyard where we often grill dinners with friends. We live in a neighborhood filled with children and families (and dogs!). There are several parks in the area, excellent schools, and even an ice skating rink and swimming pool within walking distance of our house.
We are full of the joy of life and we have a wonderful marriage. We also enjoy the benefits of great family and friends. More than anything, we are excited to share this happiness with children. We appreciate that you have many decisions to make, and we sincerely hoped that our letter has given you an impression of the life we hope to offer your child. We would love to speak with you.
