Dear Birth Mother,
Thank you for taking the time to read our letter! We admire your courage and strength in this difficult decision of considering adoption. We have been looking forward to having children but haven’t been able to do so. We are excited about becoming parents through adoption and can’t wait to welcome a child into our home. We hope this letter will help you get to know us and all the love we can give your child.

Our Story
We are Siobhan (Shavon) and Juergen (Yurgen) and we have known each other for more than 7 years. We have a warm and happy relationship and share a mutual love for dogs and the outdoors.

Weekends at our house starts off with a morning walk for our two dogs into downtown to one of the many hiking trails or parks nearby. This is usually followed by a run or a bike ride. Movies are also something we love to do together. Dinner with friends on Saturday night is the weekend highlight where we get together to BBQ on our deck.

Spending time with our families is very important to us. We're lucky to have Siobhan’s Mom right here in the Bay Area. She’s a nurse who lives a few blocks from the beach so we get to spend lots of quality time together. We travel often to see the rest of our family and love spending time with Juergen’s parents in Germany, Siobhan’s brothers in Greece, and her Dad in Boston.

Between our friends and family, we have been blessed to spend lots of time around children of all ages. Now we look forward to welcoming a child into our hearts and home.

Juergen (by Siobhan)
Juergen is a warm and caring friend and husband. He has taught me a lot about kindness, happiness and forgiveness. Juergen believes anything is possible and I love that about him. He has a really silly side that kids love – they think it’s great to know an adult who isn’t too serious. He’s been known to do an occasional embarrassing dance move and even likes to help me sing a karaoke song or two.

He was born in Rottweil, Germany to wonderful parents who taught him the value of hard work, honesty and making each day count. He was encouraged to explore his passions as he grew up and liked the outdoors, history and team sports. He also started a youth organization and was very active with kids in his community. He grew up next door to his cousin Frank who is like a brother to him.

Juergen has a computer science and a business degree and is an executive at a large software company. Although he has become very successful at work, his closest friends are from Kindergarten and they keep him connected to his roots. He loves to take his cousin’s boys down to the local park to play baseball. Juergen also loves to go running and a few years ago he did his first marathon.

Siobhan is full of love, energy and compassion. She gives everything to her family, friends, and people in need. She is a wonderful wife, friend, and aunt. What I have learned from Siobhan is to approach everything we do with confidence and commitment.

Siobhan was born in Montreal, Canada to her parents. Siobhan is the oldest of three children and holds her two brothers, Mike and Jarrett, dearly. Mike is a proud husband and father of two girls who all live in Greece. Jarrett is an English teacher in Japan. Siobhan’s parents taught her the value of hard work, education, and putting family at the center. Siobhan has overcome adversity in her life when shortly after college she was hit by a car. She had to learn to rebuild her physical strength and her spirit. This has made her appreciate that things don't always go the way you planned.

Siobhan has a degree in psychology and spent most of her professional career in Marketing. She left her career to be able to focus on building a family and becoming a mom. She is the happiest when she can play and read with her nieces or the children of our friends. What I love the most in Siobhan is her big heart, her unbreakable spirit, and her absolute love for children. She loves to read and is crazy about dance music from the 80’s.

Our Home
We live in a wonderful little California town near the beach and the mountains. Our house is a comfortable 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home on a cul-de-sac that’s perfect for kids to play outside. We have a great deck and a back yard with a vegetable garden and grassy play area. The local schools are rated as some of the best in the Bay Area.

We have two wonderful dogs named Max and Calvin. Max is a nine year old black Labrador who is very gentle and is great with kids. Calvin is a shy hound dog who Siobhan rescued 12 years ago. We are serious dog-lovers!

Raising a Family
Our parents taught us many important values that we want to share with a child: unconditional love, respect for differences, hard work, honesty, and a love of life. We want to provide a child with a loving home, a large international family and two parents that will be dedicated to creating a positive, healthy environment. We look forward to encouraging a child in their passions, helping them understand their family origins, providing them with an excellent education, and hope to show them the world with all of its beauty and diversity.

We were both born and raised Catholics. We are two spiritually committed people who appreciate many different approaches to faith and look forward to raising our child with a belief in a higher power.
